Standcote Xylan 1424

TOTAL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Our vision at Crawford Singapore Pte Ltd is to be and recognized as the leading manufacturer of Fluorocarbon bolt, nut and steel materials in the world. This vision is supported by our commitment to provide Total Customer Satisfaction
Materials with StandCote offer a high degree of protection against corrosion. In recent assessment, bolting materials with Fluorocarbon were found to have slight to no rusting and only minimal blisting, after a 1,200-hour slat spray test.

StandCote will too improve the appearance and performance of the products and is available in a wide range of colours to suit your requirement. StandCote will bond to metals, ceramics, plastics and many other materials.

10 REASONS WHY SHOULD ONE CHOOSE QUALITY STANDCOTE

StandCote differ from traditional fluoro - polymer coatings in one very important aspect - they are composite materials. Lubricants with the lowest known coefficient of friction are combined in a matrix with the newest high temperature organic polymers.

1 LOW FRICTION
  Friction as low as 0.02
2 WEAR RESISTANCE
  Even under extreme pressure
3 CORROSION AND CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
  Excellent in most environments
4 WEATHER RESISTANCE
Withstands sunlight, saltwater & road chemical
5 WIDE TEMPERATURE OPERATING RANGE
  From - 420° to 550°F (- 250° to 285°C)
6 FLEXIBLE CURING SCHEDULE
  Ambient to 750°F (400°C)
7 WIDE COLOUR RANGE
  You can colour your products
8 PLIABILITY
Fluorocarbon bent freely & repeatedly without breaking
9 MACH INABILITY
Apply multiple coats (most formulations) & mill to specification
10 EXCELLENT ADHENSION
Adheres to most metals, plastic, ceramics, wood and even to itself (most formulations)

New Xylan1424: Aqueous coating with improved corrosion resistance
A new environmentally friendly, waterborne fastener coating from Whitford has demonstrated

outstanding corrosion resistance when compared to traditional solvent-based coatings.

Developed for the offshore sector, Xylan 1424 is a resin-bonded, thermally cured, dry-film
lubricant, designed for spray application. It is formulated to provide the highest levels of

corrosion resistance whilst offering improved “chip-resistance”.

Xylan 1424 is available in a wide range of colors and can be applied to all types of fasteners in
a broad range of materials, including aluminum, brass, high alloy steels, carbon steel,
stainless steel, titanium and zinc plating. Its corrosion inhibiting qualities are further enhanced

when applied in conjunction with a range of recommended primers and pretreatments.

The coating is designed to withstand most solvents, automotive fluids and fuels and is
impervious to the new water-based hydraulic fluids recently introduced into the offshore

industry.

Key advantages of Xylan 1424 over solvent-based coatings include:

  • Environmentally friendly.
  • Superior corrosion resistance.
  • Low flash-off temperature: air dry or force dry at 100°C/212°F.
  • Low cure temperature of 205°C/400°F).
  • Suitable for use with a broad range of substrates.

Xylan 1424 demonstrates superior levels of corrosion protection over its solvent-based
equivalents and is an ideal coating system to be used where environmental regulations restrict

the use of solvent-based coatings.

Whitford manufactures the largest and most complete range of fluoropolymer coatings in the
world. Whitford Worldwide now has manufacturing facilities in seven countries, offices in an
additional four countries, a global network of 50 agents and sales in more than 100 countries
worldwide.
